» Substitute Granola Bars for Candy Bars

When you just have to have that snack, reach for a granola bar (I favor the chocolate chip kind). It gives you the taste you are craving, low fat, and won't make you feel like you've slipped off your diet


» Lettuce is the perfect diet ingredient.

Did you know that lettuce is made consists of about 94 % water and that the rest is primarily important vitamins and minerals? This makes lettuce the perfect ingredient in most diets, as there are no drawbacks by eating it.


» Eat at the same times every day.

Always eat at the same times every day, with no more than an hour's lee way. 'An ounce of prevention' is the key here. You'll be less likely to binge in the evening. Using this simple tip, you could probably lose 5 to 10 pounds without even thinking about dieting.

Dieting does not help when you eat your way out of your emotions and problems. The best way to begin a weightloss in my opinion is to diet the mind first. A shrink can find out why you eat and can help you forget that habit and begin feeling better about yourself.

Make sure that you are full whenever you enter a grocery store. If your not hungry you are less likely to get tempted when shopping for dinner.

Talking with others in the same situation and sharing the hardship the you face during a diet can be really helpful. Knowing that you are not alone and being able to share ups and downs can mean the difference between success and failure.

If you have any doubts whether you need to lose weight, or if you are planning to lose weight. you should contact your physician and let him/her advice you on how to get started and how to diet the right way.

Whenever you do anything which is unusual to your body you should always seek the advice of your doctor before you do anything else.

» How to avoid scam diets.

The Internet is full of "scam diets" and fake products that only are designed to make you pay up. But then how do I know the difference from bad and good?

Well there are a few criteria's which will help you weed out most of the bad diets and products.

Diet products online. - Don't buy them, online use what you personal physician or dietitian has prescribed for you.

A good diet must.

- Supply you with essential amounts of minerals, vitamins and protein.
- Meet your minimum level of required calories per day.
- Be approved by your doctor.

» Keep a journal.

Keeping a journal can be a good way to let out your frustrations and your joys. It can also work as a motivation tool as you will be able to see any progress that you have done during the time you have been dieting.

Even better you can keep an online journal and share it with other people dieting online.
